ALFA Development, Inc. is a private, nonprofit agency serving individuals affected by intellectual and related developmental disabilities including autism, PDD-NOS, and dual diagnosis.

A Growing Community

In August ALFA opened a new 4000-square foot satellite day program. Our new, light and airy features lots of natural light, work and activity areas, a sensory room and a full-time art therapist.

Rugged Maniac 2018

Our ALFA Angels team of employees, family and friends helped us raise funds by running in the Rugged Maniac 5k obstacle race at Raceway Park on July 7th!

Residential Program

You may have passed one of our group homes without even knowing it! ALFA currently has residences in West Milford, Butler and Oak Ridge, NJ. Each home is situated in a beautiful residential neighborhood with access to a variety of community amenities, such as restaurants, movie theaters, community events and town, county and state parks.

Day Program Services

ALFA's day program is a facility-based special needs program, which means the overall staff to client ration is maintained at 1:3 to accommodate special needs. Whether the goal is earning a paycheck, learning new life skills, participating in recreational activities, or just getting out in the community, our day program is designed to meet the needs of each individual.

Behavioral Support

ALFA understands that some people with developmental disabilities have special behavioral needs and challenges and offers behavioral support through a qualified behavior specialist. Along with the resident's family and doctors, and in conjunction with ALFA staff, the behavior specialist develops a course of treatment to maximize positive behavior skills.

Join Us!

We currently have vacancies at our day program! We accept eligible clients of all ages who have aged out/graduated from the school system. ALFA is an accredited real life choices provider and will work directly with families and the New Jersey Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) to facilitate placement. Transportation is available!
